MEREDITH MILLER
Los Angeles-based accessories designer Meredith Miller
has been creating jewelry for more than six years. She
founded her company, Fit To Be Tied, in 1998
when she began making handmade beaded crystal jewelry
and later moved on to design colorful assortments of
silk flower pins and accessories embellished with Swarovski
crystals.
In January 2005, Meredith launched Pokerchip Girl™,
a unique line of pendants, pins, money clips and other
accessories. These fine treasures are handmade from
rare, vintage poker chips that date back to the turn
of the Twentieth Century. They are embellished with
the finest Swarovski crystals and sterling silver charms.
Pokerchip Girl is currently available online at
www.pokerchipgirl.com and other retail locations.
Meredith Miller is widely recognized for her exceptional
creative design skills and as a successful retailer
for the past 16 years. As the former co-owner of Fair
Oaks Pharmacy & Soda Fountain in historic South
Pasadena, she handled all marketing, advertising and
buying, and was responsible for the popular soda fountain
and gift shop winning Gold Crystal Merchandise Awards
for store design and a Silver Crystal Award for store
promotion from Gifts & Decorative Accessories
Magazine, along with numerous other accolades throughout
the years.
The designer role has led Meredith to express her own
imagination in the launch of her successful accessory
lines. Meredith has a background in consumer advertising
and marketing along with a keen eye for merchandising.
Known for her trend-spotting skills and quick identification
of new directions in the fashion and gift categories,
she has cleverly integrated marketing with creativity
that has resulted in offering consumers sophisticated
accessories with an unusual twist. The poker phenomenon
has crossed into a lifestyle movement and that has made
it ripe for a fashion spin. Future Pokerchip Girl expansion
plans include fashion clothing, men’s gifts, luxury
pet products and more.
The launch of a new accessories line is not the only
creative venture that Miller has assumed. She also works
as a consultant to individuals and corporations in the
gift industry developing and marketing new and existing
products/services. Currently, Miller is a consultant
to the California Gift Show and the creator/producer
of Eye on Design: Extreme Retail Challenge,
a new reality-based design event, featured at the California
Gift Show. The Extreme Retail Challenge debuted
in January 2005 and was a huge success. Miller recently
completed a second Eye on Design: Extreme Retail Challenge
event that aired in July at the California Gift Show.
Meredith and her family reside in Los Angeles with
four dogs and three cats. Being an animal lover, Meredith
volunteers her time to the Pasadena Humane Society where
she is on the Board of Directors and an active fundraiser.
Knitting is her latest passion!
